If you want to start or stop a Windows service, you have to reach a certain menu and if you need to do this regularly, it can get annoying. ServiceTray can help you avoid this, by providing you with quick and easy access to your services. The software can place new icons in the system tray, for services of your choice. Whenever you need to manipulate a service, you can do it much faster through the system tray.

The software is compatible with all modern Windows versions and it can be installed in no time. The hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools. ServiceTray is distributed as a freeware application, without any hidden fees or restrictions.

It takes only a few seconds to create a system tray icon for any active or inactive service. When you launch the application, you must select the service you wish to control in a drop menu, choose an icon and where to create a shortcut. You can immediately create a shortcut either on the desktop or in the Startup folder, or you can choose a specific folder, through a standard browsing option.

Running a created shortcut will place an icon in the system tray, for the targeted service. Right clicking this icon will reveal options for starting, stopping and restarting the service. Additionally, you can bring up a few details about the service and bring up the Services menu, the task manager and an events viewer, through the same system tray icon.

ServiceTray's straightforward functionality makes Windows service manipulations much faster and easier.

Pros

You can start or stop Windows services through a system tray icon. Creating an icon for a service is extremely easy. The application is lightweight and it can be installed in no time.

Cons

A service search function would be a welcomed additions.
